Clubs & Activities
Holy Family students are offered many extra-curricular activities:
- Band- Under the direction of Bill Booher, our school band is open to any student in grades 5-8 who is interested. They practice twice a week and perform at in-school events, as well as at community events upon request.
- Chess Club- Students meet after school once a week to hone their chess skills and compete with one another.
- Drama Club- Our drama club is sponsored by the Peoria Park District. Students from grades 3-8 are welcome to participate in the weekly after-school practices. Their practice culminates in a Spring play. They also perform throughout the community upon request.
- Robotics- Thanks to volunteers our students can participate in the LegoLeague sponsored by Caterpillar Tractor Company. They compete in the state-wide tournament held annually at Bradley Univeristy.
- Student Council- Our 5th-8th graders are encouraged to run for Student Council. The Student Council hosts the Veteran's Breakfast, annual Bloodrive, and Red Ribbon Week activities, and they make an annual donation to Holy Family School with the monies raised over the current school year.
- Declamations- Students in grades 5-8 are welcome to partipate in the annual Bishop Edward O'Rourke Speech Tournament, hosted each March at Holy Family, at which they complete with other area Catholic schools students.
