Hi. My name is Bill Booher and I have been band director at Holy Family for the past 14 years and at St. Patrick in Washington for the past 10 years. I retired from the Dunlap School district in 2000 after 34 years there. Growing up in Peoria, I attended Washington and Franklin grade schools, Peoria High School, and have B.M.E. and M. M. E. degrees from Bradley. I have played in the Peoria Symphony Orchestra for over 60 years, the Peoria Municipal Band for 57 years, as a charter member of the Prairie Wind Ensemble Adult Concert band for 40+ years, the River Valley Brass Quintet, and other local performance groups. My wife Nancy and I attend Grace Methodist Church in Pekin where my son Chris leads the praise band. My daughter Valerie O’Conner and her family live in Westmont, and my step-son and his family are in a suburb of Rochester, N.Y. where he teaches. My hobbies are golf, local trivia contests, and collecting movies. I love teaching great kids in a school setting where we can have Christmas concerts and call them “Christmas” concerts.
