Amy Kelly Bio

I feel so blessed to have had a job that I love as much as I love teaching. My journey to being a teacher began in Peoria, IL. I am the oldest in a family of five. Sadly, I lost both of my parents in 2017, just a month apart from each other.
My grade school years were spent at St. Thomas in Peoria Heights, and I attended Richwoods High School. SIU is where I received my teaching degree with many other universities extending my learning.
I have taught everything from Head Start to 8th grade, mostly in East Peoria, District 86. I spent several years teaching 6th Grade Gifted at Palatine School District. I moved back to Peoria when my husband passed away. I have been married to John Kelly for nineteen years, and we have four children and five grandchildren that we love to visit in Portland, OR; Denver, CO; Naperville, IL; and Norfolk, VA.
When I am not teaching I like to camp, read, bicycle, travel, garden, and visit grandchildren (and their parents).
Holy Family is a source of great happiness and contentment for me.
